So so day at home

You know how you go to bed each night with the intention of getting more done the next day? To be the housewife that people, society anticipates you to be? Well I failed at that miserably today. Was it the grey and deary weather outside? The endless number of chores I needed to get done and did not? Or the fact I slept in. Again. It could be all the above but I have come to realize is that society, well people do not know exactly what an housewife does. Especially one without kids. Having 5 rescue dogs, 1 cat and a fish don't count I guess.

I do admit I had no clue in the beginning in what a housewife does. My mom wasn't one. Neither is my older sister or any of my friends. Most of my friends who do not work have kids and that automatically lumps them in with "Stay at home moms" and caretakers. So I digress...what I am trying to say is that nobody really knows what happens behind closed doors or how some people do not fit into the boxes that we like to put them in. I can say I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a niece, and all those boxes apply to who I am. Now it is time for me to figure out what a stay at home housewife or just "housewife" is. No kids...no side job. Can barely cook. Well we can get into that another time.

Thank you for taking time to read this well, rambling post and I look forward to talking to you next time. Maybe we can figure this dilemma I have together. Or at least enjoy the journey together and you can finally tell me how in the heck I can feed my husband healthy foods when all he wants his hamburger and fries. Take care and be safe. Bye for now!

  1. Hi Happyathomemaker! I wish you had continued to write as I would be so interested in finding out more about your life with your pets :) I don't think any of us ever fully fit into societies boxes as a society is just a large group of individuals who will always have some opinion or other about the way we live! It's much better to just hold close those people who accept us and don't give too much thought to those who don't. All the best, Clare
